Christmas Tree Trail
Part of the Sunshine Coast council initiative, you will find up to 29 trees lit up with festive decorations up and down the Sunshine Coast. Eyes will light up when you see Noosa’s Christmas tree alight in the middle of Hastings St. Not just the tree, head down to Hastings St at night to see the entrants in this years Tourism Noosa’s Noosa Lights Up competition. Don’t forget Noosa Junction with its Light up the Junction festive Friday to be held on December the 20th. Enjoy the street party with pantomimes and carols.
Sunshine Coast Markets
Local markets offer the ideal opportunity to buy that last minute gift or find something truly original for that hard to buy for family member or friend. Coolum is holding twilight markets in Tickle Park every Friday night until the 24th of January. This beachside market offers a great range of handmade local artwork, produce, jewellery and crafts.
Head to Noosa Marina for their Sunday markets which are held from 8am to 2pm. You will find great local produces, arts, live music, restaurants and take aways. The perfect waterside location to spend a Sunday…made even more memorable if you catch the local Noosa ferry from Hastings St.
The Eumundi Markets are held each Wednesday and Saturday mornings and with Summer Nights returning again this year. With free family movies on offer as well as great market stalls, music and a visit from Santa. Held each Friday night from December the 13th till January 3rd from 5 to 9 pm.
Christmas Carols – Noosa, Coolum, Tewantin
Everyone’s favourite Christmas event…this year the Noosa Carols on the River will be held on Sunday the 22nd of December from 7pm. Held in the Noosaville Lions Park on Gympie Terrace is it a wonderful casual event with families enjoying time together carolling on the banks of the Noosa River.
Coolum Christian Family Church will host Coolum Christmas in the Park this year on Saturday the 14th of December. Bring the picnic rug, a picnic and enjoy the Christmas celebrations with face painting for children, animal farm and a great range of entertainment with local performers, a visit from Santa and fireworks.
Tewantin will host its Christmas carnival on Sunday the 15th of December. This family event is free with locals and Sunshine Coast visitors joining together to enjoy carols, rides, live entertainment, raffles and a fireworks display over the Noosa River.
